Town Talk: Vancouver International Auto Show provided plenty of vroom-vroom

TIRES TO KICK: A 1920 Ford Model T pie truck meets attendees at the New Car Dealers Association of B.C.’s 95th annual Vancouver International Auto Show. Later classics include a five-decade flight of Chevrolet Corvettes, as well as the 650-horsepower current version. Most vehicles occupy Vancouver Convention Centre West’s vast, windowless lower floor. But for Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, upper-end Porsches and suchlike, real skylight illuminates the sky-high price tags. That’s because show executive director Jason Heard and father Phil collared the centre’s window-walled upper floor. There’s little those Vancouver Collectors Car Show & Auctions founders don’t know about providing pizzazz.
